Today, the focus is on some anticipated modifications that are set to improve the Gemini app for Android.

The current dark mode in Gemini aligns with the system settings of your device. However, in version 17.61.19.sa.arm64 of the Google app for Android, new controls specific to Gemini have been identified:
As illustrated, users may soon be provided with options to bypass the system settings, allowing them to select light or dark mode for Gemini specifically.
Although this update appears in the Google app, it’s crucial to note that these new controls apply solely to Gemini and will not influence the overall functioning of the Google app’s dark mode.
Recall the notifications
Besides the new dark mode options, there is an enhancement to Gemini’s notification system. The app already allows for considerable control over the notifications you receive from Gemini, including your Daily Brief and various responses. Soon, Gemini will also include a history archive for notifications.
Once activated, users will be able to access this feature by clicking the bell icon at the top. Initially, they will encounter a welcome message, followed by a list of recent notifications.
Plans are also underway to enable long-press functionalities on notifications for either opening them or removing them from the list, although this feature is still under development. Overall, this new functionality looks promising for helping users keep track of recent interactions with Gemini and ensuring that nothing significant is overlooked. We will monitor the progress and provide updates as developments arise.
