Discover How Gemini and Find Hub Can Assist You in Tracking Down Your Essential Documents

Google’s Find Hub is capable of helping you track not just your Android devices and tags, but also other personal items. While placing a compatible tag on your belongings is optimal, it’s not always feasible, especially for items like birth certificates, passports, and social security cards. Instead, you can utilize a feature that integrates Gemini and Find Hub to keep tabs on these important documents.

Start by ensuring that Find Hub is activated. You can do this by downloading the Find Hub app or navigate to Settings > Google > All services > Find Hub. After setting that up, designate Gemini as your device’s assistant through the Google app by tapping your profile icon in the upper right corner. From there, go to Gemini or Google Assistant > Digital assistants from Google and select Gemini as your default option.

Now you’re set to record the locations of your crucial belongings using Find Hub. To add new items, simply speak to Gemini and say something like: “Hey Google, remember I placed my passport in the vault at Find Hub.” Gemini will confirm that it has saved the item’s location and link directly to Find Hub from its interface.

When you click on that link, you can view the details of the item, including the location description, a photo for better recall, and specifics like the exact address if you have multiple storage spots, such as different residences or safe deposit boxes. You can also include notes for additional context. Alternatively, you can manually enter items in the Find Hub app by going to the Remembered tab, clicking the plus icon, and selecting Manual entry.

Recording an item’s location is straightforward. When you need to recall where you stored an important document, ask Gemini, “Hey Google, where is my passport?” It will respond with the last known location along with a link to Find Hub. Alternatively, you can directly open the Find Hub app to view all items saved under the Remembered tab. Simply click on the item to see any images you’ve added, its current location, and any notes associated with it.
