Apple Unveils $2,000 iPhone Duo for Pre-Order Starting Today at 8 AM ET

Expectations suggest that the new device will attract significant interest and may have limited availability.
The Apple Store is currently unavailable, hinting at an upcoming launch. As noted on their placeholder page, they express excitement for the imminent pre-order phase which begins today at 8 AM ET. This release pertains to the highly-anticipated iPhone Duo, and those eager to secure their device might want to act quickly, as there are signs it will be in high demand and may sell out fast. Pre-ordering seems a smart choice compared to waiting for the official launch on October 23rd.
In a recent preview, tech reviewer Sam Rutherford described the iPhone Duo as “Apple’s most thrilling product in years.” Though not the first foldable device on the market, it features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner OLED screen that unfolds to create a tablet-like experience, making it perfect for media consumption. The display boasts a nearly seamless appearance, enhanced by subtle gradient effects that promote the appeal of this innovative gadget.
However, potential buyers should consider some drawbacks, such as its hefty $2,000 price and the absence of FaceID technology, along with the missing advanced camera features present in the latest iPhone 18 Pro models. Additionally, the under-display FaceTime camera on the inner screen, while making the design sleeker, may not be seen as an upgrade.
Having previously used a Samsung Galaxy Fold, I appreciate the draw of foldable phones, as they often attract curious onlookers. If you’re interested in acquiring the iPhone Duo, it may be wise to get to the order page right at 5 AM PT, as pre-orders are likely to be snatched up quickly.
