Apple Music Set to Launch New Feature for Capturing Your Karaoke Performances

Apple Music’s Selfie Sing feature set to debut with iOS 27.3.

Apple Music is set to unveil a new feature that will allow users to record their own karaoke performances directly within the app, eliminating the need for external applications. This feature, named “Selfie Sing,” is an enhanced version of the “Sing” functionality launched in 2022. According to reports, it will be available with the upcoming iOS 27.3, currently in beta testing. Users will be able to create videos of themselves singing along with lyrics displayed on the screen in real-time. However, this feature will be limited to a curated playlist rather than the entire song catalog.

In the promotional text for Selfie Sing, Apple stated, “There are some songs that everyone knows by heart, the ones that make the entire room sing along.” The selected playlist boasts popular hits such as Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction, Like a Virgin by Madonna, Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, and 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton.

To start using the feature, simply pick a song and activate the camera to begin recording. Users can also enhance their vocals with various effects, including Megaphone, Echo, Concert Hall, and Studio, before saving or sharing their performances. The iOS 27.3 beta has just been released, which also includes new Siri features and a redesigned Health app for iPhones. The full version of this mobile update is anticipated to be widely released in December.
