Unveiled Footage Claims to Reveal an Abandoned Assassin’s Creed Title Set in Ancient China

At least we have Assassin’s Creed Jade to anticipate.
The idea of a key installment in the Assassin’s Creed series set in ancient China may seem like a dream. Recent leaks, however, suggest it was once in the works under the title Assassin’s Creed Destiny, which has since been canceled. A video released by MP1st showcased gameplay alongside placeholder visuals from this reputedly abandoned project, believed to have been produced by Ubisoft in collaboration with Tencent.
This footage revealed an intriguing setting of 206 BCE during the Qin Empire. Viewers witnessed the main character scale castle walls and execute stealth tactics, reminiscent of classic Assassin’s Creed gameplay. Additionally, the placeholder clips highlighted various combat moves and weapon options, featuring an intriguing tool described as a lethal umbrella.
While the cancellation of this title suggests we might never see its content come to fruition, Ubisoft is still actively developing Assassin’s Creed Jade. Announced in 2022, this mobile game also takes place in ancient China. Although there hasn’t been further information on the project in years, recent reports indicated a delay to 2025. Ubisoft executives have hinted the game will feature cooperative gameplay. With any luck, some concepts from the canceled Assassin’s Creed Destiny may make their way into this upcoming release.
