Trump Acquires SpaceX Stock Shortly After Milestone IPO

President Donald Trump reportedly acquired up to $50,000 in shares of SpaceX on June 23, following the company’s record-breaking initial public offering, according to a financial disclosure initially highlighted by a news agency.
The specific price paid for the shares remains unclear, but they had declined from peaks exceeding $200 by that date. On June 23, SpaceX shares were trading around $150. By the end of trading on Monday, the shares closed at the IPO price of $135, which might indicate that the president’s investment is currently losing value.
Despite a brief dispute last summer, Trump and Musk maintain a close relationship. This dispute involved Musk’s claims that Trump was withholding Department of Justice documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, given Trump’s prominence in those files. According to a recent analysis, SpaceX has been securing a growing number of government contracts and benefiting from the Trump administration’s approach to deregulation.
White House representative Davis Ingle informed the media that the president’s stock investments are managed by third-party financial firms, which aim to mirror well-known indexes, like the Schwab 1000. Additionally, SpaceX has been advocating for popular indexes to alter their guidelines for quicker inclusion ahead of its IPO, suggesting that many investors may have unknowingly invested in the company.
