Nintendo to End Services for Mario Kart Tour on September 30

The game will not have an offline version available.
Mario Kart Tour is set to end its journey, with Nintendo officially taking the mobile game offline on September 30 at 2 AM ET. Unlike Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which had an offline transition, there are no plans for an offline version of Mario Kart Tour. This means the game will be permanently unavailable in just a few months.
The service for the Mario Kart Tour game will conclude on September 29 at 11 PM PT / September 30 at 8 AM CEST. We appreciate your support over the years. For details about the future handling of rubies and the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass, refer to in-game notifications or the FAQ.

Nintendo has ceased sales of the game’s digital currency and has also discontinued auto-renewals and new subscriptions for the Gold Pass, which provided additional in-game content, goals, and a 200cc mode. Current subscribers will have access to most Gold Pass features for free until the game concludes, while other players can enjoy these benefits at no cost starting August 5 at 2 AM.
The decline of Mario Kart Tour has been evident for some time, as the game has been in maintenance mode since late 2023. At that point, Nintendo stopped adding new courses, characters, karts, and gliders.
However, Nintendo is still invested in the mobile gaming sector. Recently, it launched Pictonico!, a game reminiscent of WarioWare, utilizing images from users’ camera rolls. Additionally, classics like Super Mario Run remain available nearly ten years post-launch, alongside titles such as Fire Emblem Heroes and Fire Emblem Shadows. Though still popular mobile games like Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom are managed by other operators, Nintendo continues to explore new mobile opportunities.
