A new documentary exploring the life of Elon Musk is set to arrive in cinemas, and the trailer has finally been released. Titled Musk, this in-depth film runs nearly four hours, including a ten-minute intermission, ensuring viewers brace themselves for an extensive look into the life of the billionaire.
The film is helmed by director Alex Gibney, recognized for his provocative documentaries. His previous works include Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room and Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, as well as films regarding Elizabeth Holmes and America’s torture practices in the War on Terror.
This documentary does not shy away from controversy. It aims to delve into some of Musk’s most criticized decisions, such as his involvement with the DOGE agency and his connections to the MAGA political movement. Additionally, it will scrutinize his tendency to set high expectations for upcoming technological advancements and look into issues experienced by users of Tesla’s self-driving technology.
The film will also address allegations that Musk manipulated his Starlink satellite network to influence the 2024 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. This claim, which circulated within conspiracy circles, gained traction after Musk’s ex-girlfriend Ashley St. Clair shared messages indicating he might exploit “an anomaly in the matrix” to secure Trump’s victory, although there is little credible evidence to back this assertion.

Despite the revelations, Musk himself is not pleased with Musk. He has threatened legal action against Gibney for defamation and expressed his disdain for the director on social media, labeling him “a bitter old man” and “a horrible human” with “zero integrity.”
As of now, Musk holds a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and is set to debut in select theaters on October 9, with a wider release following on October 16.
