Another set of leaks has emerged concerning Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch models, shedding light on their design and color options. However, there’s disappointing news for fans of the Galaxy Watch Classic line.
A recent post on social media from a leaker named Galaxy Techie has revealed purported details about the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2, accompanied by some software mockups. According to these claims, both models will sport new band options, fresh colors, and additional watch faces.
The new color options appear to include black with a bluish strap and silver with a green band. Additionally, a beige variant may be available exclusively for the base model. The distinction between which colors belong to the Watch Ultra 2 or the Watch 9 remains unclear.
Further details about the Ultra 2 suggest it will adopt a more rectangular design, drawing inspiration from the Watch 8 Classic, which includes a numbered bezel. Although it’s unknown if this bezel will be rotatable, as on the Watch 8 Classic, the leaker asserts that the Ultra 2 will feature thinner bezels. Enhanced side buttons are also mentioned, with the shortcut button highlighted by an orange outline.
The leaker followed up with software mockups of the upcoming smartwatches, showcasing the compass application, app drawer, and watch face selection interface:
We have some specifications for the new watches: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could be equipped with a larger 784mAh battery, while the Galaxy Watch 9 might have a 382mAh battery. Despite these larger batteries, regulatory documents suggest that the charging speeds are expected to remain unchanged. Furthermore, Samsung has confirmed that the next generation of Galaxy Watches will utilize the Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC.
Samsung is anticipated to reveal the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 shortly. Rumors indicate that the next Galaxy Unpacked event could take place on July 22 in London.
