The Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over combines a coffee grinder with a rotating water spout.
Breville aims to revolutionize pour-over coffee in the same way it did for toasters and soda machines. The new Breville Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over is a high-end appliance priced at $600, designed to simplify the art of making pour-overs from the ground up. While automated pour-over devices have been around for some time, Breville enhances the experience by integrating a coffee grinder into the unit.
Traditionally, preparing a pour-over involves grinding the coffee to a specific consistency, placing it in a filter, and manually pouring hot water at timed intervals. The Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over automates this entire process. It features a grinder equipped with custom 40mm flat burrs for optimal bean grinding, a conical dripper for brewing, and a spiral water spout that mimics the technique of a skilled barista. According to Breville, the machine’s heating system rapidly reaches the ideal temperature and maintains it throughout the brewing process to ensure consistent results.

The Spiral Luxe is equipped with a user-friendly display and controls that allow users to customize the strength and amount of coffee before brewing. It also enables the saving of personalized recipes. The Advanced Edit mode allows adjustments to various parameters, including grinder settings, brew ratios, water temperature, and pour intervals. Additionally, a Delayed Auto Start feature makes it possible to set your coffee to be ready at a designated time, perfect for morning routines.
For coffee enthusiasts, the Breville Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over offers a promising way to integrate the luxurious experience of pour-overs into daily life—assuming one has the budget and enough counter space. For those on a budget, there are less expensive machines available that can perform similarly, even if they lack features like the spiral pour mechanism or integrated grinder.
The Breville Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over is currently available for purchase at the price of $600.
