Apple Raises Prices of Older iPhone Models by $100

RAMageddon 2026 touches everyone.

At today’s unveiling event for the new iPhone Duo, Apple emphasized that some of its upcoming devices would maintain their current pricing. For example, both the Apple Watch 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are priced at $399 and $799, respectively, the same as their predecessors. However, the company did not mention that the prices of its older iPhone models have increased significantly.

According to recent observations, Apple raised the cost of its previous generation iPhones by $100. The starting price for the iPhone 16 is now $799, up from $699, reverting to its original launch price from 2024 after being discounted upon the arrival of the iPhone 17. The new iPhone 17 lineup starts at $699 with the iPhone 17E, which was initially priced at $599 earlier this year. The price for the iPhone 17 equipped with 256GB of storage has also risen to $899 from $799. Additionally, the iPhone Air now begins at $1,099, a $100 increase from its previous price of $999.

In contrast, the pricing for AirPods remains unchanged. The AirPods Pro 3, for instance, continue to retail at $249, possibly owing to their lack of onboard memory.
