Google has announced improvements to the Gemini feature within Google Home, enabling it to better filter out background noise. This enhancement aims to ensure that commands given in loud environments are recognized more consistently. Additionally, responses from the assistant will be quicker, benefiting common commands related to smart home management, media, alarms, and timers.

The Gemini feature is also set to perform more reliably in multilingual households, where misunderstandings have been common. Moreover, in situations where an error occurs, it will no longer default to repeating “I didn’t understand” for subsequent commands.

This update is especially beneficial for those who frequently misplace their phones, as the capability to locate your device using Gemini has been made significantly more dependable.

Alongside improvements to Gemini, the Google Home app is also receiving various upgrades and fixes.

Previously, lowering the brightness of lights to 0% didn’t always turn them off properly. This has now been corrected so that bringing the slider to 0% effectively turns off the bulbs.

Camera and doorbell tiles have been redesigned for better visibility, making it easier to identify active cameras at a glance.

The setup process for new Nest devices on both Android and iOS has been streamlined, improving Bluetooth connections and Wi-Fi pairing. Additionally, the app now securely stores network credentials for easier setup of multiple devices in succession.
