Apple Set to Unveil Three Exciting New Features for iOS 27 This Fall

Apple is keeping additional features for iOS 27 under wraps.

In addition to the upcoming announcements showcased at WWDC 2026, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has revealed that there are three additional features on the way for iOS 27. In his Power On newsletter, he noted that Apple is developing a new watch face, a customizable Camera application, and the ability for third-party chatbots to integrate with Siri. Gurman hinted at the reasons behind the absence of these features in previous presentations, but confirmed that some of them are already present in the iOS 27 developer beta.

The anticipated new watch face is expected to be introduced alongside a refresh of Apple’s smartwatch lineup in the fall. Speculation suggests that this watch face may be inspired by the Modular Ultra option seen on the Apple Watch Ultra, but tailored for a broader range of Apple Watch models. Additionally, the revamped Camera app is likely to be unveiled with the much-anticipated iPhone 18 Pro announcement, also expected this fall. While this feature is not yet available in the iOS 27 developer beta, Gurman has previously indicated that the new Camera app will allow users to customize which features appear and how they are arranged.

Though AI developments were a significant highlight of WWDC 2026, Apple continues to work on a feature that would permit third-party chatbot integrations within Siri, according to Gurman. This functionality aims to provide users a seamless transition from Siri’s default AI to other options, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. Currently, users in the iOS 27 developer beta can switch between Siri and ChatGPT, but Gurman mentioned that the selection of available chatbots will broaden over time.
