Hulu is known for its rich comedic offerings. Whether through films, series, or stand-up acts, the platform delivers a diverse array of lighthearted entertainment. This month, Hulu introduced Not Suitable for Work, a witty new series by Mindy Kaling that explores the lives of young professionals navigating the ups and downs of New York City.
Diving into Hulu’s movie section reveals a dedicated comedy hub filled with timeless and contemporary favorites. Here are four comedies to enjoy this month, with my top recommendation making headlines again thanks to its recently released sequel.

Big Daddy
Adam Sandler embarks on fatherhood
As a child of the 1990s, Adam Sandler has been a significant figure in my comedic development. From classics like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore to The Waterboy and The Wedding Singer, Sandler’s humor was a staple of my youth. Among his 90s hits, Big Daddy stands out in my memory. It resonated with my whole family and showcased his ability to create comedies for all audiences, marking the beginning of a successful era for him.
In this film, Sonny Koufax (Sandler) is a laid-back toll booth operator whose life takes an unexpected turn when five-year-old Julian McGrath (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) arrives on his doorstep. Though Julian is the son of Sonny’s roommate, he decides to take him in, believing it might rekindle his romance with his ex-girlfriend. It’s arguably one of Sandler’s most charming films and guaranteed to bring laughter to your household.

Toy Story
To infinity and beyond!
Some may dispute that Toy Story fits into the comedy genre, yet it appears in Hulu’s trending comedy section. Categorized as an animated adventure comedy, it’s certainly worth revisiting, especially with Toy Story 5 on the horizon.
The story revolves around a boy named Andy and his toys, who come to life in his absence. These include Sheriff Woody (Tom Hanks), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who mistakenly believes he’s an actual Space Ranger and quickly becomes a rival to Woody. Released over three decades ago, Toy Story remains a defining work of Pixar and a landmark in animated cinema.
2
Mrs. Doubtfire
Robin Williams takes on nanny duties
In classic Euphegenia Doubtfire style, “Helloooo, dear.” Robin Williams is indeed missed. This legendary comedian could evoke laughter, joy, and even tears; his dynamic presence brought films alive. Mrs. Doubtfire is one of his works that I treasure dearly.
Williams stars as Daniel Hillard, a voice actor whose life falls apart when his wife Miranda (Sally Field) requests a divorce, gaining custody of their three kids. To stay close to them, Daniel disguises himself as a British nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfire, who specializes in entertaining and educating children. This character becomes essential in the kids’ lives, and even garners a closer connection with Miranda. The film is packed with memorable quotes and remains a testament to Williams’s undeniable talent.

The Devil Wears Prada
Your incompetence does not interest me!
To gear up for The Devil Wears Prada 2, I recently caught up with the original during a flight. It’s a captivating watch from beginning to end, where the outfits and Andy’s evolving style shine through. The story follows Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), an aspiring journalist who becomes the assistant to the fearsome Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the commanding editor of Runway magazine.
Miranda challenges Andy at every turn, yet she surprises everyone by surviving longer than expected. Given the original film’s impressive box office success of over $665 million worldwide, a sequel could certainly be on the horizon.
Additional Hulu recommendations
Hulu consistently enhances its catalog with high-quality content. For those interested in Oscar-winning films, Sentimental Value and Black Panther are must-sees. If you’re on the lookout for a binge-worthy series this weekend, consider tuning into The Testaments or Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.
