US Probes Alleged Chinese Espionage Scheme Targeting Nvidia CEO

A senior executive from a Singapore-based artificial intelligence cloud company, implicated in the illicit sale of Nvidia chips to China, is reportedly under scrutiny for potential espionage links, as indicated by anonymous sources to a major news outlet.

The individual in question, Alice Huang (also known as Huang Le), held a significant position at Megaspeed and has been seen alongside Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang during various business gatherings in Singapore. U.S. intelligence agencies have been monitoring her activities and connections to China for approximately a year, according to reports.

Concerns, as noted by sources, stem from Alice Huang’s close relationship with Jensen Huang, raising fears that she might have been siphoning information regarding Nvidia’s objectives and the CEO’s lobbying efforts with the Trump administration to enable the export of advanced technology to China.

However, a spokesperson for Nvidia refuted these claims, asserting that the CEO’s interactions with Alice Huang were akin to those with any other regional client.

“Jensen’s engagement with Ms. Huang is standard practice. Meeting with clients is integral to a CEO’s role; he communicates with thousands of executives annually,” the spokesperson stated in a message. They further emphasized, “Our regional cloud customers are provided with common business insights — not sensitive Nvidia trade secrets — and certainly no information pertaining to national security.”

In a 2025 report, it was mentioned that the Commerce Department had launched a probe into Megaspeed over allegations that the company was aiding Chinese firms in evading AI chip export laws by reselling restricted components. At that time, Alice Huang was identified as a leading executive within the company.
