Unique Auction Alert: Limited Edition Two-Player Space Arcade Machine Now Available!

David Perry, known for his work on the classic game Earthworm Jim and as a co-founder of the game streaming service Gaikai, is auctioning off a rare two-player Computer Space arcade machine. Currently available on RR Auction, the bids have already reached $6,748 with twelve bidders participating. This unique piece is estimated to fetch over $20,000.
Perry shared on social media that he has decided to sell the machine due to space constraints, noting, “It’s probably the rarest arcade game in existence, found in museums.”
The auction listing describes the machine as featuring a control panel equipped with a 25-cent coin slot, a coin return button, a red ‘Start Game’ button, a green ‘Two Player Operation’ button, and two original joysticks with ‘Fire Missile’ buttons. The machine is in excellent shape, displaying minor scuffs, and is fully operational with a functional screen. Original two-player Computer Space cabinets are extremely hard to find and seldom sold publicly, making this particular item even more remarkable due to its pristine condition and original components.
The bidding opened on July 24 and is set to close on August 20 at 7 PM ET. However, bids must be made by 6 PM on that day to be eligible for any final showdown. Once the final hour begins, bidders have 30 minutes to outbid the leader, with the timer resetting after each new top bid, creating an exhilarating atmosphere that should appeal to fans of competitive gaming.
This auction is part of a larger event titled Steve Jobs & the Computer Revolution: The Apple 50th Anniversary Auction Part Two, which includes a variety of early tech memorabilia. Among the items are personal effects belonging to Steve Jobs, autographed photographs of notable tech leaders, an Atari Video System X prototype, and vintage computers, iPods, and iPhones. All bidding concludes at 7 PM ET on August 20.
