Savannah Officer Shares Flock Access with Her ICE Agent Spouse

A former police officer in Savannah, Amber Harpe, was dismissed in August after an investigation revealed that she provided her Flock system login details to her husband, Tyler Harpe, who works for ICE. The Savannah Police Department clarified that it does not permit sharing Flock data with ICE, deeming this action a breach of the department’s security protocols.

During the period he had unauthorized access, Tyler Harpe performed 983 searches on 97 license plates, predominantly associated with Hispanic individuals, as reported by a local news outlet. The couple argued that their use of the access was not for personal matters, claiming the searches were solely for “law-enforcement purposes.”

Initially, Interim Major Max Nowinsky suggested a minor eight-hour suspension for Amber Harpe. However, Major Michelle Halford and Assistant Police Chief Robert Gavin opposed this recommendation, leading to her termination. She was let go alongside five other employees amid an internal review that revealed improper use of the Flock system. While four individuals were later arrested, Harpe was not among them.
