Nvidia CEO Dives into Festive Fun with Adorable Microduck Robots: The Must-Have Christmas Sensation with 20,000 Sold!

Earlier this week, a video featuring Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang interacting with a lively group of Microducks during his keynote at the GTC Berlin conference gained significant attention online. The charming robots, waddling about and emitting adorable R2-D2 sounds, showcased impressive behaviors such as sitting down, pretending to nap, and performing somersaults—all upon voice commands. Due to their endearing nature, preorders for the Microducks exceeded 20,000 units by the next day, as noted by Clem Delangue from Hugging Face in a tweet.

These Microducks are anticipated to arrive just in time for the Christmas season, potentially making them the most sought-after toy of the holidays. Delangue suggested they could become the year’s top-selling robot, appealing even beyond the children’s market. Promotional material has highlighted adults engaging with the robots as well.

Developed by Pollen Robotics, which became part of Hugging Face in 2025 and is now under Nvidia’s umbrella, the Microducks are open-source devices. This marks Hugging Face’s second foray into robotics, following their earlier product, the Reachy Mini.

The Microducks have been programmed using Nvidia’s technology, with initial training allowing them to perform basic commands such as walking, sitting, and standing. Pollen Robotics encourages owners to teach their Microducks new tricks and share these with the wider community.

The accompanying video serves as a light-hearted break from the recent troubling developments in the AI landscape, where the technology has faced scrutiny due to its association with various cyberattacks. While AI poses notable risks, it can also provide joy, making it hard to resist the urge to order one of these delightful bots after watching the video.
