Morphe Update Enhances YouTube Experience

Quick Overview:

  • The latest Morphe v1.33.0 update streamlines the playing queue in the YouTube app, enabling users to add videos directly without playback.
  • This update introduces crowd-sourced ad skipping and integrates Last.fm and ListenBrainz for enhanced music tracking on YouTube Music.
  • Reddit users can now completely hide the “Trending communities” section from search results and the main feed.

Morphe, an open-source tool designed to address user issues with platforms such as Reddit, YouTube, and YouTube Music, has officially launched its v1.33.0 update. Following a prior release that enabled the addition of videos to YouTube’s playing queue, this latest patch provides further enhancements along with essential modifications.

According to contributions from the user community, notably Reddit user Unknown-Key, the new version permits users to add videos to their playing queue from anywhere within the YouTube app, alleviating the previous restriction that required a video to be played first before it could be queued.

The update also brings a “Voice over translation” feature, catering to multi-language content.

The overhaul for YouTube Music is significant; it now includes a specialized SponsorBlock feature, allowing users to skip through ads and interruptions just like they can with video content.

Additionally, a new Scrobbling feature integrates seamlessly with Last.fm and ListenBrainz, enabling users to automatically log their listening habits.

On the Reddit side, the focus is on enhancing user experience by removing unnecessary clutter. This update fixes situations where the communities shelf was not being appropriately hidden in experimental builds. It also allows users to completely remove the “Trending communities” and “Trending on Reddit” shelves from search suggestions and the main feed.

The new Morphe version has also increased its compatibility with the latest versions of YouTube and Reddit apps.

Here’s a summary of the updates in Morphe v1.32.0:
