The upcoming major release in the God of War series, featuring Kratos’ wife Laufey, is scheduled to launch on February 16 of the following year. This was officially announced at a San Diego Comic-Con panel and via PlayStation’s social media outlets, marking just under a year until players can dive into God of War Laufey. The game will center around Laufey as she navigates the afterlife of gods after her death in God of War Ragnarok.
In a shift from the usual gameplay, participants will take on the role of Laufey, showcasing her fighting skills which have been teased in earlier titles. This announcement follows a preview of gameplay that highlighted Laufey — also known as Faye — engaging in aerial combat and wielding magical powers against deities and foes previously unseen in the series.
At the moment, interested players can only place God of War Laufey on their wishlists, but the franchise has more in store. During San Diego Comic-Con, Santa Monica Studio revealed that another installment featuring Kratos will follow this one centered on Faye, as noted by sources.
