Investors Take Legal Action Against Selena Gomez, Claiming Fraud in Her Mental Health Venture

Selena Gomez, the renowned singer and actress, along with her mother, is facing legal action concerning their mental health venture, Wondermind. The plaintiffs claim they invested close to $1.2 million into the startup, accusing Gomez of securities fraud and breach of contract.
The lawsuit asserts that the startup did not fulfill its obligations and failed to keep investors informed. It also alleges that Gomez did not promote the startup, despite previously promising to do so. This story initially gained attention through a report by Forbes.
Established in 2021, Wondermind was designed to provide daily mental health resources to its users. According to the lawsuit, investors were kept in the dark regarding the company’s challenges until a September 2025 article from The Cut revealed the situation.
“Gomez supposedly entered into a contract that required her participation but then neglected it,” the legal complaint states. “The partnerships were non-existent. The projects never developed. The app was never created. For three years, while the company silently declined, not a single founder, officer, or director updated the investors whose funds were sustaining the downfall.”
The investors contend that both Gomez and Wondermind misrepresented the company’s financial health and exaggerated Gomez’s level of involvement. They seek to reclaim their investments along with legal expenses.
There has been no response from Wondermind regarding these allegations.
