Trump Media and Technology Group, the organization behind the social media platform Truth Social, has announced the launch of an API that will allow access to posts on the platform. Set to be released on August 1, this Truth API will enable businesses to obtain “real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking Truth Social accounts.” This means that anyone interested in making financial decisions based on these posts will have a direct connection to the platform favored by former President Donald Trump.
The company stated that the “Truth API utilizes standard industry methods to deliver Truth Social posts to customers in mere milliseconds.” It promises around-the-clock service and includes a historical archive of posts dating back to 2022.
Other social media platforms have provided free or paid access to their APIs for creating clients that display posts and other functionalities. Notably, Twitter removed free access to its API in 2023 shortly after Elon Musk acquired the platform. However, as noted by TMTG CEO Kevin McGurn, “markets already react to Truth Social posts.”
This response can largely be attributed to Truth Social’s highest-profile user, former President Trump. As the majority shareholder of the platform through his trust, Trump also holds the title of its most-followed user, boasting around 12.9 million followers as of July 2026. He often shares major policy announcements and government actions on Truth Social before they are officially communicated through traditional channels.
Trump Media anticipates that providing unrestricted access to these posts will serve as a significant and continuous revenue source for the company, benefiting shareholders including Trump’s family. Should this not yield expected results, the company has alternative plans involving the nuclear fusion business it merged with last year.
