Hadrian Secures $1.37 Billion Funding, Achieving an $8 Billion Valuation in Defense Technology

Defense technology company Hadrian announced on Thursday that it has successfully secured $1.37 billion in funding, achieving a valuation of $7.87 billion through substantial backing from various prominent investors.

Key investors in this funding round include WCM Investment Management, Washington Harbour Partners, Valor Equity Partners, 137 Ventures, and Baillie Gifford. Additional contributors comprise 1789 Capital, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, as well as funds managed by Apollo and T. Rowe Price, along with firms such as CapitalG, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Altimeter, among others.

Notably, Founders Fund and Lux Capital led Hadrian’s previous Series C funding of $260 million about a year ago, bringing the total capital raised so far to approximately $2 billion, according to estimates from PitchBook.

What sets Hadrian apart in the defense sector is its focus on creating automated manufacturing facilities instead of developing new AI-driven weaponry. The company is dedicated to mass-producing components for military vehicles that are already in use.

In March, Hadrian launched its latest facility in Alabama, aimed at mass-producing submarine parts, marking its fourth such facility. This facility was part of a public/private partnership valued at $2.4 billion, according to Hadrian.
