Grab Your Lego Hubble Set Before the Real One Blazes Away!

A new LEGO set featuring the iconic telescope will hit stores on August 1 for $140.

LEGO is set to release a new tribute to the Hubble Space Telescope, allowing fans to build their own version of the renowned observatory. This upcoming 1,252-piece LEGO Icons set will be available starting August 1, priced at $140.

The set will feature removable panels that reveal detailed replicas of Hubble’s equipment, including its gyroscopes and mirrors. Users will have the ability to adjust antennas and solar arrays, and it comes with a display stand complete with an informational plaque. Additionally, an astronaut minifigure is included, offering a visual representation of the scale of the model. When fully assembled with the aperture door open, this LEGO version will stand over 12.5 inches in height, while extending 15 inches both in length and width.

This is not LEGO’s first endeavor featuring Hubble; back in 2021, a Space Shuttle Discovery set was launched that included the telescope as part of the payload.

For those eager to purchase this new set before the original Hubble telescope, which has been in operation since 1990, is expected to deorbit—set for the mid-2030s—there’s ample time. Interestingly, this LEGO model will likely outlast all of us, as the plastic used is not biodegradable.
