Ordinarily, Play Store search results feature a downward arrow next to app titles, which users tap to reveal more information about the app. With the new “Expand everything” feature, these results are automatically displayed in an expanded format. Users can now utilize the arrow to collapse the results instead of expanding them. Here’s how the feature operates:
While this functionality can be beneficial, it occupies more screen space for each search result, thereby reducing the number of results visible at a glance. However, being an experimental feature, it can be toggled on or off easily. Users can simply click on their profile picture within the Play Store and navigate to the “Play Labs” option to manage the expanded results setting.
This experimental feature has begun to be rolled out to select users, but its availability appears to be limited at this stage. It seems to follow Google’s typical phased rollout approach. Users hope for a broader rollout soon.
