In the past, any content produced with Gemini would automatically include a visible watermark. However, recent changes have introduced a feature allowing users more freedom. Google has added the Media Watermark option to Gemini.
You can access the new Media Watermark feature in the Settings section found in the left navigation panel. It is located near the bottom of the menu as the third-to-last item. When you hover over it, you will be presented with two choices: On or Off.

If the Media Watermark setting is activated, your creations will display a visible watermark, while turning it off will remove the watermark entirely. This setting affects images, videos, and music created using Gemini.
In the upcoming days, users will have the option to choose whether their Gemini-generated images, videos, and music creations will feature visible watermarks. However, invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata will continue to be embedded in the background.
Despite opting out of visible watermarks, users should note that invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata will still remain embedded in their creations after changes are applied.
This update follows feedback from Josh Woodward, Google’s VP overseeing Gemini, AI Studio, and Google Labs. Users expressed concerns about visible watermarks in their top complaints, prompting the company to address the issue.
