Cyera to Secure $1 Billion Deal for Oasis Security, Enhancing Protection for Expanding AI Agents
Cybersecurity firm Cyera, which recently secured $600 million at a valuation of $12 billion, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire Oasis Security for around $1 billion. This transaction is primarily set to be financed in cash, with a portion settled in Cyera shares.
Oasis specializes in managing non-human identities, specifically AI agents. As the prevalence of AI agents increases, organizations are required to implement cybersecurity solutions that track these agents’ activities and regulate their access to various software applications.
Established in 2022, Oasis has raised nearly $195 million from investors including Accel, Craft Ventures, and Cyberstarts.
This acquisition underscores the rapid growth of the cybersecurity sector, which is increasingly focused on safeguarding companies against threats enhanced by AI technologies.
Cyera, which shares investors Accel and Cyberstarts with Oasis, has been active in the acquisition market, having recently purchased Ryft, backed by Index Ventures, along with Genie Security, which was founded less than a year ago.
Following the acquisition, Cyera intends to incorporate Oasis’s technology into a comprehensive platform for identity and data security.
Despite Cyera’s recent achievement of surpassing $150 million in annual recurring revenue, the company remains unprofitable, according to a report from last month. The five-year-old firm has attracted approximately $2.3 billion in total investment.
