Boeing’s Wisk Aero Facing Allegations of Wrongful Termination Over Safety Whistleblower Claims

Wisk Aero, a company focused on electric air taxis and affiliated with Boeing, is facing legal action from a former employee alleging that her termination followed her expression of safety concerns.
Briahna O’Neill, a former software manager, has filed a lawsuit against Wisk in the Superior Court of Santa Clara County, claiming discrimination and wrongful dismissal. Reports indicate that Boeing has chosen not to respond to these allegations.
O’Neill asserts that she submitted two internal safety reports detailing the company’s decision to limit the FAA-mandated software testing to meet a testing deadline set for 2025. She claims her dismissal occurred shortly after she submitted her second report.
Established in 2019, Wisk is among several firms striving to create commercially viable electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles, with a focus on achieving full autonomy. Earlier this year, the FAA approved Wisk as one of eight participants in a three-year program aimed at testing these aircraft. The company has stated it cannot discuss matters related to ongoing litigation.
