Apple’s Touchscreen MacBook is Expected to Launch Without the M7 Chip Delay

The upcoming models will feature the M5 Pro and M5 Max, according to insider Mark Gurman.
Apple might be bypassing the M6 generation for its Pro and Max chips, but this does not imply that the launch of its anticipated touchscreen laptop is delayed. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the new MacBook is set to debut with the high-performance M5 chips released earlier this year. The 14-inch and 16-inch models are predicted to arrive between late 2026 and early 2027, as previously indicated by Gurman. A future version of the touchscreen MacBook will utilize the M7 chips shortly thereafter.
Gurman, who has information from sources familiar with Apple’s plans, noted that the M7 models are already undergoing advanced testing and may be ready by the end of 2027. The upcoming touchscreen MacBook is expected to introduce various enhancements along with its touch display. These improvements may include the Dynamic Island interface, an OLED screen, and “a refreshed industrial design,” according to Gurman.
Apple is anticipated to launch its M7 chip in early 2027, followed by the M7 Pro and Max later in the year. Furthermore, Gurman speculates that the M7 Ultra could be unveiled in 2028.
