Apple Allegedly Downsizing Hundreds of Positions Within Siri and Vision Pro Teams

Apple is scaling back its Vision Pro team, along with other departments, as reported by Bloomberg.
According to sources, the company is cutting over 200 jobs, with around 100 coming from the Vision Pro team alone. The remaining cuts affect teams related to Siri and the Intelligent Systems Experience, which focuses on AI integration. This shift appears to be part of Apple’s strategy to prioritize its new AI initiatives and upcoming devices.
Apple confirmed the job reductions, stating that it is looking “to evolve our business to deliver the best experiences for our users.” The company mentioned that while new roles would emerge from this restructuring, it would also affect a small number of current positions. TechCrunch has reached out for further details.
The tech giant is navigating a challenging transition period, aiming to strengthen its presence in the AI sector while also coping with rising production costs associated with a memory shortage linked to AI development.
Earlier this summer, Apple raised prices for its Macs and iPads and introduced a leasing option for its major hardware products to attract a wider range of customers while managing new expenses. Additionally, the company is engaged in a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging trade theft.
