Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1 from Google Introduces Support for Pixel 11 Series Devices

Being an early adopter comes with its ups and downs. While many enjoy being at the forefront of technology, it sometimes leads to waiting for updates, especially for the newest devices. Pixel 11 users recently experienced this when the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 released last week, omitting their devices. Luckily, they didn’t have to wait long for the follow-up.

Last Thursday, Google issued the latest version of Android 17 QPR2 Beta aimed at its Pixel community. This update included models from the Pixel 6a to the Pixel 10 lineup, but notably left out the newly launched Pixel 11 devices. Many expected these newer models to be included, leading to some disappointment.

Fortunately, Mishaal Raman from Google provided some insight, indicating that updates for the Pixel 11 series were indeed in development and would arrive soon. A few days later, the Android 17 QPR 2 Beta 6.1 now includes these devices.

This latest update sees support for all models, with build CP41.260831.007.A3 for Pixel 6a through 10, and CP41.260831.011 designated for the Pixel 11 series.

No new bug fix notes were offered, except for a heads-up regarding the Pixel 11 Pro Fold:

Users of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold may need to re-register for Face Unlock to ensure proper functionality.

This minor issue is nothing significant, but it’s nice to be informed. It’s unclear if this contributed to the previous delay, but the important thing is that users now have access to the Beta update.
