Meta Unveils Enterprise AI Platform, Enlists MongoDB CEO to Spearhead Innovative Initiative
Meta has unveiled its latest initiative, the “Meta Enterprise Platform,” which aims to broaden the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) services for businesses. Leading this new project is Chirantan “CJ” Desai, previously the CEO of MongoDB, a prominent database software firm.
This development follows the introduction of Muse, Meta’s personal AI assistant that was launched earlier this month, designed to assist users with various tasks such as email communication and travel arrangements.
Meta plans to leverage its comprehensive technology portfolio, which includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and other tools, to benefit businesses and developers.
Desai highlighted in a statement that, “AI will significantly transform how organizations innovate, expand, and engage with customers in the coming years. Meta holds a distinct position as it combines advanced models and effective agents, proven to support millions of advertisers and numerous businesses in scaling. The Meta Enterprise Platform is committed to developing its AI capabilities into tangible products and services that can be utilized by enterprises.”
This strategic move may prove beneficial for Meta, potentially offsetting the substantial investments it has made in AI technology.
In related news, MongoDB’s stock tumbled by over 17% following the announcement of Desai’s unexpected exit. The company has named Dev Ittycheria as the interim CEO, a role he has previously filled, as the board seeks a successor for Desai.
