In a recent announcement, Google revealed that users can now connect their Google Photos with Gemini Spark. This upgrade enables users to automate tasks involving their stored photos that they may have been meaning to address.
With Gemini Spark, users can execute multi-step tasks in Google Photos, allowing for the management, editing, enhancement, and sharing of photos via a single command. Furthermore, Spark can extract text from images, summarize events, and craft visual narratives.
A particularly noteworthy feature is the ability to program recurring actions in Google Photos using Spark. For instance, users can instruct Spark to sift through their photo collection weekly, highlight the best pictures of family members or pets, compile them into a shared album, and then distribute them to loved ones. This automation means users are freed from the need to manually curate and send photos regularly.
Currently, the integration of Google Photos with Gemini Spark is accessible only to users in the United States who are 18 years or older and possess a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. The rollout is gradual, so it may take some time before it becomes available for all users.
