Crusoe Secures $3 Billion Funding, Achieving a $30 Billion Valuation

Crusoe, a data center operator with notable clients like Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI, has successfully secured $3 billion in funding, raising its valuation to $30 billion, according to reports.

The funding round is co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners, with additional backing from Mubadala Capital, which is part of the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund.

Recently, Crusoe entered into an impressive $13 billion contract over five years to provide GPUs and AI infrastructure to Jane Street, a quantitative trading firm.

This new investment comes just ten months after the company raised $1.38 billion at a valuation of $10 billion in the previous October.

Founded in 2018 as a crypto mining business utilizing flared natural gas, Crusoe has transformed into a leading provider of AI infrastructure and cloud services, and is recognized for creating large-scale data centers for companies such as Oracle and OpenAI.

The firm recently engaged with investment banks, including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, to explore the possibility of an IPO in the near future, as reported last month.
