Kia’s latest EV becomes the most affordable option in its range.
Kia has revealed pricing for the EV3 in the US market, setting the starting price at $29,450, with an additional $1,495 for destination fees. This brings the total initial cost to $30,945, significantly lower than the anticipated $35,000 mark announced in April.
The EV3 offers a robust 321 miles of electric range, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. Its design incorporates features from the larger EV9 SUV but is nearly the same size as the Kia Niro crossover. True to contemporary EV standards, the EV3 is equipped with an NACS port for compatibility with Tesla’s Supercharger network, and it can charge from 10% to 80% in only about 31 minutes when using a 350kW DC fast charger.
With this pricing, the EV3 stands out as the least expensive electric vehicle in Kia’s lineup, especially noteworthy in an era where affordable EV options are dwindling in the US. Since the Trump administration’s changes to Biden-era tax credits in July 2025, many automakers have stopped manufacturing certain EV models or abandoned their electric vehicle plans. However, the Kia EV3 remains in a select group of vehicles, such as the Slate Truck, which can boast a price below $30,000.
Additionally, this group of affordable electric vehicles is expected to expand soon. Ford has recently announced that its forthcoming “Fathom” electric truck will be priced at $28,350, with deliveries anticipated in early 2027. Moreover, new financial incentives for consumers looking to buy electric cars are making a comeback. As of July, California has implemented a new rebate program offering first-time buyers $3,500 off new EVs and $1,500 off used ones.
