His achievements include league titles in four different countries and over 25 major trophies. While not everyone may agree with his approach or personality, his results are undeniable.

When Sybylla’s grandmother (Anna Chancellor) invites her to stay at her estate, she remains disinterested in high society and adamant about maintaining her independence. However, her stay may inspire her writing and lead her to unexpected romance with potential suitor Harry Beecham (Christopher Chung). My Brilliant Career flips the traditional romance narrative, providing a refreshing take.

I’m excited to see how Reacher navigates the complicated situations ahead—plus, the show has already been confirmed for a fifth season.

Lanterns
DC Ventures into TV
My knowledge of superheroes is somewhat basic compared to dedicated fans. I’m familiar with the Green Lantern Corps mainly through the infamous film featuring Ryan Reynolds. However, Lanterns, a new offering from HBO, seems to blend crime drama with superhero elements, which piques my interest.
This series introduces Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), a prominent member of the Green Lantern Corps, who mentors his new recruit, John Stewart (Aaron Pierre). They are dispatched to Nebraska to probe a murder potentially linked to a larger conspiracy. The show’s aesthetic has drawn comparisons to True Detective, which certainly has my attention.
Lanterns premieres on HBO and HBO Max on August 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
