Meta Unveils New App for Creating Generative AI Games

Create Your Own Games with Pocket.
Meta has seemingly launched a beta version of a new application called Pocket, designed for users to create their own mini-games through a process termed “vibe-coding.” Mobile developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi discovered Pocket and shared the information on X. According to AppFigures, the app has been accessible on both iOS and Android since June 29, but it’s not yet available in the United States on any of the popular smartphone models associated with our Google accounts. Meta’s help page indicates that “the Pocket app is not yet available everywhere.”
Currently, there has been no formal announcement from the company regarding the app’s launch or its testing locations. We have reached out for additional information and will provide updates if we receive any response.

Meta has been actively integrating artificial intelligence into its applications over the past year, from aesthetic updates to the introduction of new standalone apps. TechCrunch has speculated that Pocket may stem from the acquisition of the Gizmo app team, which utilized AI to generate interactive experiences based on user inputs. Pocket markets itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos” in its app description, and its Play Store shortcode “com.facebook.gizmo” suggests a clear connection to the previous platform.
