Renowned projector manufacturer XGIMI has announced the upcoming release of three premium projectors noted for their innovative designs and exceptional image quality. Among the new offerings are the Elfin Flip Laser and Elfin Flip 4K portable projectors, along with a new ultra-short-throw model named MIRA.

Both Elfin projectors feature a unique flip-out stand that doubles as a pivot point, allowing users to project images onto ceilings—perfect for enjoying content while relaxed. When not in use, this stand can be folded back for easy storage. Physically, the two models appear identical, but their specifications reveal critical differences.

While the Elfin Flip 4K is believed to utilize a conventional lamp for brightness—though details remain vague—the Elfin Flip Laser is confirmed to have a triple-laser light source for enhanced image clarity. The latter model is positioned as a cost-effective choice.

Both Flip projectors are equipped with integrated speakers, although detailed audio specifications are limited. Previous models in Japan featured a single 7W speaker designed by Harman Kardon, and there are indications that the new models may follow suit. In Japan, these projectors were also equipped with Google TV, but the global versions remain uncertain at this time.

Furthermore, similar to the existing Elfin 1080p variant, the Elfin 4K and Laser do not include built-in batteries. The Flip 4K supports 4K resolution at 60Hz and 1080p at 120Hz, while the Flip Laser is confined to 1080p at 60Hz, though both models offer variable refresh rates for enhanced gaming experiences.

In Japan, the pricing for the Elfin Flip 4K is set at approximately 206,800 yen (~$1,290), with the Flip Laser priced at around 139,800 yen (~$890). Prices in the U.S. are expected to be somewhat higher.

Conversely, the XGIMI MIRA is intended for more permanent installation. Similar to the Elfin series, MIRA has been introduced in certain regional markets, including China. It is designed to provide 4K content with an impressive brightness of 2,000 ISO lumens. The projector also supports HDR10+ for improved contrast and features a 2.1 channel audio setup, also tuned by Harman Kardon, capable of 360° sound output. While the Chinese model includes a custom interface, global versions may come with Google TV.

XGIMI MIRA 4K

The pricing for the MIRA 4K in China is around 6,499 yuan (~$960), but similar to other XGIMI projectors, a higher price point can be anticipated in the U.S.

XGIMI has announced that preorders for these projectors will be available from June 25 to July 14. Customers who order early may receive perks such as a portable screen with the Elfin Flip models, or two packs of 3D glasses with the MIRA. Those placing preorder will also benefit from prioritized shipping starting as early as July 7, with full-scale sales commencing on July 15.
