Android 17 has been accessible on Pixel devices for some time, but other Android users have been awaiting updates from their manufacturers. Motorola is addressing this by broadening its Android 17 beta program to include more Razr, Edge, and Moto G phones.
A new wave of testing was noted by observers on Motorola’s forums, indicating that eligible devices now include the Razr 70 Plus, Razr Plus 2026, and various models from the Edge 70 series along with the Moto G Power and G Play for 2025 and 2026. While Motorola hasn’t released a comprehensive changelog for this new batch, past beta versions suggest several expected features. Enhancements may include a refreshed notification panel, revamped control center, adjustments to lock screen clocks, improved volume controls, reinforced haptics, and modified icon appearances.
Additionally, a Live Updates indicator has been introduced near the selfie camera, and the Qira AI branding made an appearance in previous versions. However, it is important to note that not every new eligible device is guaranteed to receive all these features.
As with any beta software, potential issues like bugs and performance glitches are to be expected. Motorola advises users to back up their data and ensure their device is charged to at least 50% before installation.
