Over the years, I have compiled a selection of applications that are free to use, entirely ad-free, and considered superior to many paid options available in the market.

Blip

While Android’s Quick Share feature is efficient, especially with Windows systems, I often prefer Blip for its faster and more user-friendly experience.
Blip is available for personal use across multiple platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux. Simply install the app on both devices for quick sharing. It allows for the transfer of images, videos, documents, compressed files, and even complete folders while preserving the folder hierarchy. The standout feature of Blip is its remarkable speed—my coworker recently transferred 12GB of Sims 4 mods at a peak rate of around 1.5 Gbps, a speed I hope Quick Share could achieve in the future.
Another advantage of Blip is its convenience; files can be sent between devices without the need to open the app on the receiving end. In addition, it functions even when devices are not on the same network by utilizing mobile data or any available internet connection, making it a handy option when you’re away from Wi-Fi.
Image Toolbox

Image Toolbox is a unique open-source photo editor on Android, designed to simplify common tasks rather than compete with standard image editors. It offers basic functions like cropping and resizing, but also features such as background removal, EXIF editing, format conversion, and AI-enhanced upscaling. Users can also stitch images, apply watermarks, and create GIFs.
Notably, Image Toolbox allows for batch processing of multiple images simultaneously, a feature often requiring desktop software. It includes tools for color picking, document scanning, OCR, and ZIP creation. The interface boasts a customizable, user-friendly design.
Bluetooth Remote

The Bluetooth Remote app turns your Android phone into a versatile remote control for Android TVs. After installation, just connect via Bluetooth, and the app provides features like a numpad, navigation arrows, and media controls.
The highlight of the app is its virtual trackpad feature, which activates a mouse pointer on your TV for easy navigation. It also allows you to use your phone’s keyboard for searching and typing passwords, enhancing usability compared to the official Google TV app, which requires both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
FUTO Keyboard

The FUTO Keyboard prioritizes user privacy by functioning entirely offline, unlike popular alternatives such as Gboard and Microsoft SwiftKey, which collect user data.
In addition to basic features like autocorrect and swipe typing, FUTO Keyboard offers an offline voice typing capability utilizing an OpenAI model. It achieves impressive voice recognition without transmitting data to any servers, and predictive text operates using local machine learning, enhancing user experience.
Although it may lack the polish of mainstream keyboards, FUTO Keyboard provides an excellent option for those seeking a privacy-centric solution without internet connectivity.
Bitwarden

If you’re still using simple passwords or storing them in notes, it’s time for a change. You don’t need to spend money to secure your passwords. Bitwarden provides a widely compatible open-source password manager. While some features require a subscription, the free version sufficiently offers unlimited password storage, a password generator, autofill, and secure notes.
Bitwarden’s compatibility across many devices, including comprehensive browser extension availability, allows password management without being confined to a single platform.
The premium subscription is affordably priced at $1.65 per month, offering additional features like phishing protection and secure document storage. However, the free version is robust enough for most users’ needs.
In conclusion, this list highlights Android applications that stand out as exceptional for being free. If you have any favorites to share, please leave them in the comments.
