Startup Founder Charlie Javice Seeks Trump Pardon Amid Controversy

Charlie Javice, the founder of Frank who has been convicted, is allegedly pursuing a presidential pardon. Her team is discreetly engaging with individuals affiliated with the Trump administration, as reported by sources. However, her name has not yet appeared on any formal clemency request lists at the Justice Department.

This list is expanding rapidly. As the administration considers issuing approximately 250 pardons to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, a significant influx of clemency requests is being received from individuals convicted of white-collar crimes, including Sam Bankman-Fried.

JPMorgan may not view this situation favorably. Last September, Javice was found guilty of creating fake customer accounts to boost her startup’s valuation prior to its sale to the bank for $175 million. She is currently serving a sentence of over seven years and is appealing her conviction, claiming the prosecution was unjust.

The bank has additional reasons to be concerned, especially regarding its ties to President Trump. Early in 2021, JPMorgan terminated accounts linked to Trump and his businesses shortly after the Capitol riot on January 6, which Trump has publicly characterized as political “debanking.” He has since filed a $5 billion lawsuit against JPMorgan and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, though the bank maintains that there was no political intent behind the decision.

Javice also has influential supporters, including Marc Rowan of Apollo, who was an early investor in Frank and testified in her favor during her trial. Rowan has contributed to Trump’s campaigns and has donated significantly to Republican congressional committees since then.
