Neko Health, the Body-Scanning Venture by Daniel Ek, Secures Additional $700M in Funding

Neko Health, a startup specializing in body scanning and health evaluations, founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne, has successfully secured $700 million in a Series C funding round.
The funding was spearheaded by Lightspeed Venture Partners and O.G. Venture Partners, following the company’s previous achievement of raising $260 million in a Series B round in January 2025.
Utilizing unique body-scanning technology combined with blood analysis, Neko Health offers comprehensive health assessments. For fitness enthusiasts, the technology now includes detailed body composition metrics. Additionally, the assessments can be integrated with Apple Health data, providing clinicians with valuable real-world insights.
With existing facilities in the UK and Sweden, Neko Health is gearing up to launch its first location in the United States, specifically in New York. The company reports that over 100,000 individuals have undergone scanning, while more than 350,000 people are currently on a waitlist or have scheduled appointments.
Among those who have benefited from a Neko Health scan is Alex Tew, the founder of Calm. He shared on social media that the scan identified a malignant mole on his back, which he quickly had removed. “I’m thankful to Neko for helping me uncover this; I’m uncertain how I would have found out otherwise,” he remarked.
Neko Health is not alone in the health scanning sphere, as tech-driven companies like MidJourney, renowned for its AI image and video technology, are also developing body scanning solutions. MidJourney plans to introduce a scanner integrated into a spa experience with hot tubs and saunas, set to launch in San Francisco by 2027.
Additional investors participating in the recent funding round for Neko Health include Atomico, General Catalyst, Lakestar, Liberty City Ventures, Positive Sum, and BDT & MSD.
