Is the Pixel 11 Gaming Experience as Disappointing as Rumored? I Tested Three Top Games to Discover the Truth

The Tensor G6 processor featured in Google’s Pixel 11 series has not had the most favorable debut. The performance benchmarks of this chip fall significantly behind its competitors, which is somewhat expected. Additionally, during the launch week, gamers experienced visual glitches while playing popular games such as Genshin Impact, raising concerns about a repeat of the driver issues that affected the previous Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 chip for several months.
But is the situation truly as dire as it appears? To investigate, I decided to play a selection of popular Android games, documenting frame rates, temperatures, and power consumption. I tested out the Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty Mobile, raced in the adrenaline-pumping Asphalt Legends, and explored the graphics-intensive Genshin Impact. I set the graphics options to the highest possible levels my Pixel 11 Pro XL could handle: medium settings with a 90fps cap for COD, high settings with a 60fps limit for Asphalt Legends, and high/max settings with a similar 60fps cap for Genshin Impact.
