Google Promises Upcoming Solution for Home Device Latency Issues

With the recent integration of Gemini into Google Home, users might assume that the primary concern with their smart speakers and displays revolves around the accuracy of the AI’s responses and avoiding potential blunders. While that is certainly a key issue, an unexpected challenge has arisen: Google Home devices have been experiencing delays of up to a minute before responding, or simply timing out. Fortunately, Google is addressing this problem.
An update from Google’s Nest Community account on a Reddit thread, where the service interruption was first discussed, states:
We acknowledge a problem that is causing increased latency and timeouts. Our team is working on a solution as quickly as possible, and we will provide an update once the issue is resolved. We appreciate your understanding.
Since then, there haven’t been any new announcements from the account, indicating that while Google is aware of the situation and is working on a fix, no solution has been implemented yet.
This is somewhat disappointing, but we still value the communication and are eager to hear when the resolution is finally in place.
