  • Google Home users are experiencing difficulties using voice commands to control their Nest Thermostats.
  • Many are receiving a notification stating, “Sorry, I can’t reach the Nest Thermostat right now.”
  • Controlling the thermostat through the Google Home app appears to be functioning without issues.

The advantage of a smart home is the convenience of controlling devices with voice commands. However, this ease of use can be disrupted by connectivity issues. Some Nest Thermostat users are currently facing such challenges.

A Reddit user recently shared their struggle with getting their Google Home speakers to connect to the Nest Thermostat. Each time they attempted to use a voice command, they received a message indicating that the thermostat was unreachable. Interestingly, there are no issues when trying to control the thermostat through the Google Home app.

This appears to be a widespread issue, as several other users on Reddit have reported similar problems with their devices. Notably, the original poster mentioned that their Google Home regained communication with the Nest Thermostat the following day.

Android Authority has reached out to Google for a response and will provide updates as further information becomes available.
