Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus May Soon Feature Enhanced Zoom Camera Technology

In recent releases, Samsung’s standard Galaxy S phones haven’t seen much innovation in telephoto camera technology, but this may change with the new lineup. Reports suggest that the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus could feature the 3x telephoto system seen in the more advanced Galaxy S27 Pro.

Digital Trends reported that a source claims Samsung is currently testing the S27 and S27 Plus models with a 3x telephoto system likely mirroring that of the S27 Pro. While the details about the telephoto sensor remain unverified, an earlier report suggested the Pro version could have a 12MP 3x telephoto camera, implying that the standard models might also receive the same upgrade.

Previous rumors indicated that Samsung might make significant changes to the standard Galaxy S27’s camera setup, including potentially using a Sony sensor for its 50MP primary camera. The latest leaks hint further at Samsung’s future plans for the telephoto system, but many details remain uncertain.

There is also some vague language in the report, suggesting the S27 and S27 Plus may share their main and ultrawide camera hardware with the Ultra version. However, prior claims indicated that the S27 Pro was to share these camera components with the Ultra, which seems more plausible at this point, although the original intent from the tipster is not clear.
