In an unexpected turn, Garmin emerged as the top choice, with 22.9% of respondents favoring the Garmin Venu 4 over other alternatives to the Galaxy Watch 9.

While the Venu 4 may not offer the same level of smart functionality as its Wear OS counterparts, its robust health tracking and impressive battery life set it apart. Additionally, it provides two size options for users.

Following closely in second place was the Pixel Watch 4, receiving 22.3% of the votes—just 12 votes behind the Venu 4. This polling occurred prior to the release of the fifth-generation model, which suggests that Google’s smartwatches are a strong competitor to the Galaxy Watch series.

In third place, surprisingly, was the Amazfit Balance 2, earning 20.7% of the votes. With 32GB of storage and a three-week battery life, it offers great value at $300, although users critical of Amazfit’s software may hesitate to choose it.

Meanwhile, the performance of Samsung’s earlier smartwatch models leaves much to be desired. The Galaxy Watch 8 received only 19% of the votes, and the Watch 7 trailed with 9.9%. While collectively they might indicate a preference for older Galaxy models over competitors, the data suggests that Samsung’s smartwatches could be losing traction.
