Anthropic Anticipated to Earn Poor Credit Ratings Post-IPO, According to Financial Times تقرير

Following its initial public offering, Anthropic is anticipated to receive a high “junk” rating from credit rating agencies, as noted in a report.

According to recent reports, investment firm Blackstone, which played a pivotal role in financing Anthropic’s chips with a $63 billion deal, has informed its investors that it expects the AI company to attain a high junk rating post-IPO. Previously, Blackstone had indicated that the organization behind the Claude AI would secure an investment-grade rating by 2027, which suggests a lower risk for lenders.

Current expectations from Blackstone have shifted, now predicting a rating in the double B range, which is considered the upper echelon of speculative “junk” grades.

Attempts to reach Anthropic and Blackstone for comments have been met with silence from both parties.

While Blackstone’s forecast remains speculative, a high junk rating could complicate and increase the costs associated with Anthropic’s fundraising efforts, which are vital for sustaining its heavy spending habits. Over the last year, the lab has entered into significant compute power agreements, raising concerns among its investors.

Anthropic formally submitted its public offering earlier this week, igniting discussions about the potential effects of this massive IPO on the wider AI sector.
