Summary:

  • YouTube has confirmed that many Android users are still facing Server Error 400, despite an earlier claim of resolution on November 1.
  • This error inhibits affected users from accessing the platform or efficiently playing videos.
  • Google is actively seeking another solution, but their suggested fixes will erase downloaded content.

YouTube recently announced a fix for a frustrating bug impacting Android users, only to admit two days later that the issue is still unresolved for many. The tech company has retracted its prior statement about the Server Error 400, confirming that some users remain unable to access the app or view videos as intended.

In a recent update on their support thread, Google acknowledged that the problem lingers and indicated that teams are still working on a resolution. However, no new timeline for a fix has been provided.

We understand that some individuals are continuing to receive “Server Error 400” messages when trying to use YouTube on Android. Our teams are actively working on addressing the issue, and we will update you here as soon as we have more information!

This latest recognition is noteworthy since YouTube had initially declared the issue fixed on November 1. The company assured Android users that they should be able to use the service without encountering further problems.

Evidently, that wasn’t the final chapter.

The issue does not seem to affect all users. Some members of Android Authority tested the application on Android devices without encountering any errors. However, for those still facing difficulties, Google suggests two troubleshooting methods: uninstalling and reinstalling the YouTube app or clearing the app’s storage through Android settings, as opposed to merely clearing the cache. Both actions will result in the loss of downloaded videos, so offline users should proceed with caution.
