- The revamped camera bar on the device may enhance compatibility with magnetic accessories.
Though the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra is still months away, fresh insights are emerging about the device’s potential features. Previous leaks offered some graphical renders, but the latest development involves a physical dummy constructed from exclusive CAD designs, which showcases the revised camera bar and overall size of the phone.
The most significant modification in the Galaxy S27 Ultra is its new camera bar design, which positions the cameras higher on the back. This alteration creates additional space for magnetic accessories, improving the phone’s compatibility with MagSafe-style chargers and battery packs.

This change could represent a notable upgrade compared to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Currently, while the existing flagship can support magnetic accessories via Qi2-compatible cases, the prominent camera bump often disrupts proper connection, leading to problems such as slower charging and increased heat.
Additionally, the dummy unit maintains the S Pen holder at the bottom, indicating that Samsung intends to continue supporting the stylus.
Reportedly, the dimensions of the Galaxy S27 Ultra haven’t dramatically shifted. Its measurements are approximately 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97mm, slightly larger than the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm, maintaining a consistent footprint.

The camera bar’s redesign is not just functional but also changes the aesthetic appeal. It bears a resemblance to the iPhone 18 Pro, a trend that other Android manufacturers are following, suggesting that these design modifications provide more than just visual appeal.
A potential downside for current Galaxy users is that the revised camera layout will likely render cases from the Galaxy S26 Ultra incompatible with the new model. While some cases with larger cutouts may still fit, most will require replacement.
The Galaxy S27 series is anticipated to be unveiled by Samsung in early 2027. In the meantime, this physical dummy provides an early indication of one of the most significant Galaxy Ultra redesigns in a while, even as many features remain familiar.
